On peut les observer tous les jours, sur les murs, sur l&rsquo;\u00e9corce des arbres, ou encore sur les rochers en marchant le long de la c\u00f4te\u2026<em>ce sont les lichens bien s\u00fbr<\/em>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Dans le milieu marin, on trouve des symbiotes photosynth\u00e9tiques chez des animaux tels que les \u00e9ponges, les cnidaires et les mollusques. L&rsquo;h\u00f4te et le photosymbiote -qu&rsquo;il s&rsquo;agisse de microalgues ou de cyanobact\u00e9ries- profitent d&rsquo;\u00e9nergie et de nutriments pour leur croissance, mais peuvent \u00e9galement \u00eatre prot\u00e9g\u00e9s contre les pr\u00e9dateurs par exemple.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Mais n&rsquo;oublions pas que le copyright de la photosynth\u00e8se est d\u00e9tenu par les anc\u00eatres des cyanobact\u00e9ries actuelles. Gr\u00e2ce aux photosymbiotes, l&rsquo;h\u00f4te obtient des compos\u00e9s essentiels \u00e0 sa survie tels que des sucres, des acides amin\u00e9s, du glyc\u00e9rol, des lipides, des acides organiques, etc.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Quelles sont les limites de la photosymbiose chez les animaux? <\/strong>Tout va bien si les symbiotes ont suffisamment de lumi\u00e8re et si l&rsquo;h\u00f4te permet une coexistence \u00ab\u00a0pacifique\u00a0\u00bb (par exemple, sans attaques du syst\u00e8me immunitaire). Mais cela ne se fait pas du jour au lendemain\u2026<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Toute union stable implique une certaine adaptation (morphologique, g\u00e9n\u00e9tique et m\u00e9tabolique) des deux c\u00f4t\u00e9s.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Par exemple, l&rsquo;\u00e9norme manteau du b\u00e9nitier <em><strong>Tridacna <\/strong><\/em>permet \u00e0 ses symbiotes dinoflagell\u00e9s (<em><strong>Symbiodinium<\/strong><\/em>) d&rsquo;\u00eatre expos\u00e9s \u00e0 la lumi\u00e8re.<br><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Ou encore le transfert de g\u00e8nes photosynth\u00e9tiques de l&rsquo;algue verte Vaucheria litorea \u00e0 son h\u00f4te, la limace de mer <em><strong>Elysia chlorotica<\/strong><\/em>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Quels organismes poss\u00e8dent des photosymbiotes ? <\/strong>Les cyanobact\u00e9ries et les microalgues vivent en tant qu&rsquo;endo- ou ecto-symbiontes dans des organismes unicellulaires (<a href=\"https:\/\/fitopasion.com\/2016\/12\/la-invasion-de-los-trifidos.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">dinoflagell\u00e9s, <\/a><a href=\"https:\/\/fitopasion.com\/2020\/10\/maneras-de-vivir.html\">diatom\u00e9es<\/a><a href=\"https:\/\/fitopasion.com\/2016\/12\/la-invasion-de-los-trifidos.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">, foraminif\u00e8res, radiolaires<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/fitopasion.com\/2019\/03\/algas-culturistas.html\">acanthaires<\/a>) et multicellulaires (cnidaires, \u00e9ponges et mollusques). Oophila amblystomastis, est une algue verte dont le nom signifie \u00ab\u00a0qui aime les \u0153ufs de salamandre\u00a0\u00bb.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Leur pr\u00e9sence dans les embryons et les capsules d&rsquo;\u0153ufs augmente la teneur en oxyg\u00e8ne, ce qui favorise l&rsquo;\u00e9closion, prot\u00e8ge des infections et \u00e9limine les r\u00e9sidus azot\u00e9s de l&#8217;embryon.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Il n&rsquo;existe cependant pas encore de preuve irr\u00e9futable que <em><strong>Oophila <\/strong><\/em>transf\u00e8re de l&rsquo;\u00e9nergie aux salamandres par photosynth\u00e8se (comme le fait <em>Symbiodinium <\/em>chez les coraux).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Mais compte tenu des avantages pour les salamandres, pourquoi ne pas \u00e9tudier ces applications dans notre propre int\u00e9r\u00eat? <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">L\u2019application la plus \u00e9vidente consiste \u00e0 utiliser l&rsquo;oxyg\u00e8ne des microalgues en <strong>m\u00e9decine <\/strong>pour combattre l&rsquo;hypoxie dans les tissus: les <strong>th\u00e9rapies photosynth\u00e9tiques<\/strong>. Pour cela, il faut recr\u00e9er la photosymbiose avec des <strong>biomat\u00e9riaux <\/strong>qui mettent en contact les microalgues et les cellules animales. <em>Cela peut sembler de la science-fiction, mais cela fait plus de deux d\u00e9cennies que des recherches sont men\u00e9es et publi\u00e9es sur le sujet.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Voici des exemples d&rsquo;ing\u00e9nierie tissulaire. <\/strong>Une matrice de collag\u00e8ne qui soutient les chlorophyc\u00e9es (<em><strong>Chlamydomonas reinhardtii<\/strong><\/em>) et les fibroblastes (cellules du tissu conjonctif) dans un biomat\u00e9riel qui r\u00e9g\u00e9n\u00e8re les zones bless\u00e9es de la peau. Ou le m\u00eame biomat\u00e9riel, mais avec des lign\u00e9es transg\u00e9niques de <em>C. reinhardtii<\/em>, qui produisent des compos\u00e9s augmentant le potentiel r\u00e9g\u00e9n\u00e9rateur dans les incisions et les blessures\u2026<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u2026ou encore un hydrogel avec la cyanobact\u00e9rie <em><strong>Spirulina platensis<\/strong><\/em> pour \u00e9liminer les l\u00e9sions cutan\u00e9es caus\u00e9es par une infection \u00e0 <em>Staphylococcus aureus<\/em>. (2020)<\/strong>.<\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">L&rsquo;utilisation de la photosynth\u00e8se est \u00e9galement envisag\u00e9e dans les th\u00e9rapies anticanc\u00e9reuses, pour contrer l&rsquo;hypoxie provoqu\u00e9e par certaines tumeurs qui entrave leur traitement. (2021)<\/strong>.<\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Mais le passage des souris aux essais cliniques sur l&rsquo;homme est encore loin.<\/strong> Il faut d&rsquo;abord \u00e9tudier une plus grande diversit\u00e9 de microalgues et de cyanobact\u00e9ries ayant des usages cliniques diff\u00e9rents, et approfondir les m\u00e9canismes gouvernant l&rsquo;association avec les photosymbiotes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Un autre obstacle \u00e0 leur application chez l&rsquo;homme est le syst\u00e8me immunitaire qui ne doit pas interf\u00e8rer avec la th\u00e9rapie photosynth\u00e9tique, que ce soit avec des micro-organismes immunotol\u00e9rants ou des m\u00e9dicaments induisant une tol\u00e9rance.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><em>Et cela ne semble pas impossible car le syst\u00e8me immunitaire des vert\u00e9br\u00e9s ne r\u00e9agit que faiblement (voir pas du tout) aux micro-organismes photosynth\u00e9tiques.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Un travail r\u00e9cent <strong>(\u00d6zugur et col. 2021)<\/strong> est all\u00e9 un peu plus loin en injectant des cellules photosynth\u00e9tiques directement dans le syst\u00e8me circulatoire. Et plus pr\u00e9cis\u00e9ment <em>Chlamydomonas reinhardtii <\/em>et la cyanobact\u00e9rie <em>Synechocystis<\/em>, dans des t\u00eatards de grenouille (<em><strong>Xenopus laevis<\/strong><\/em>), en utilisant des souches \u00ab\u00a0normales\u00a0\u00bb (type sauvage) d&rsquo;une part et des \u00ab\u00a0mutants\u00a0\u00bb qui ne produisent pas d&rsquo;oxyg\u00e8ne d&rsquo;autre part.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Les t\u00eatards (vivants et anesth\u00e9si\u00e9s ; les pauvres, tout \u00e7a pour la science), dans un environnement hypoxique et sans activit\u00e9 neuronale, ont retrouv\u00e9 le fonctionnement de leurs neurones lorsqu&rsquo;ils ont \u00e9t\u00e9 \u00e9clair\u00e9s. Tout cela gr\u00e2ce \u00e0 l&rsquo;augmentation de l&rsquo;oxyg\u00e8ne g\u00e9n\u00e9r\u00e9 par photosynth\u00e8se par les <em>Chlamydomonas <\/em>(ou <em>Synechocystis<\/em>) dans leur syst\u00e8me circulatoire. Et comme preuve de l&rsquo;origine photosynth\u00e9tique de l&rsquo;oxyg\u00e8ne, les t\u00eatards \u00ab\u00a0t\u00e9moins\u00a0\u00bb (avec des souches mutantes ne produisant pas d\u2019oxyg\u00e8ne) sont rest\u00e9s sans activit\u00e9 neuronale.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><em>Voici la vid\u00e9o de l&rsquo;injection du c\u0153ur \u00ab\u00a0vert\u00a0\u00bb.
