L&rsquo;apparence de ces taches color\u00e9es est typique de <em>Noctiluca<\/em>. Leur taille (environ 1 millim\u00e8tre) permet de les voir \u00e0 l&rsquo;\u0153il nu. Des lieux comme Carnota et la R\u00eda de Corme et Laxe semblent id\u00e9aux pour profiter des mar\u00e9es bioluminescentes pendant l&rsquo;\u00e9t\u00e9. Mais cel\u00e0 reste un ph\u00e9nom\u00e8ne naturel al\u00e9atoire et il n&rsquo;est pas s\u00fbr \u00e0 100 % que vous pourrez les observer. Nous en parlerons un peu plus \u00e0 la fin \u2026<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">l suffit de lire des nouvelles telles que \u00ab\u00a0<em>Cinq plages galiciennes pour profiter des mar\u00e9es bioluminescentes<\/em>\u00a0\u00bb (\u00ab\u00a0Cinco playas gallegas para disfrutar del Mar de Ardora\u00a0\u00bb, (<a href=\"https:\/\/www.lavozdegalicia.es\/noticia\/yes\/2021\/08\/28\/paraiso-mar-ardora\/0003_202108SY28P16991.htm\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">La Voz de Galicia, 1-IX-2021<\/a>)) pour se rendre compte que A Costa da Morte est une destination id\u00e9ale pour profiter des mar\u00e9es bioluminescentes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">De plus, loin des grandes villes, cette r\u00e9gion pr\u00e9sente beaucoup moins de pollution lumineuse que les R\u00edas Baixas ou la zone d&rsquo;influence de La Corogne, o\u00f9 <strong>l\u2019on met des lampadaires tous les 50 m\u00e8tres pour \u00e9clairer la mer <\/strong>(<em>on ne sait jamais, de peur qu&rsquo;un Kraken ne sorte de l\u2019eau et qu&rsquo;on ne le voit pas<\/em>).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Encourag\u00e9s par ces nouvelles (et avant que les <em>Noctilucas <\/em>n&rsquo;envahissent le sud de la Galice), je suis all\u00e9 avec ma fille \u00e0 la R\u00eda de Corme e Laxe, le 29 ao\u00fbt afin de voir la mar\u00e9e bioluminescente. Et aussi bien s\u00fbr pour collecter des \u00e9chantillons et les examiner \u00e0 l&rsquo;IEO (Institut Espagnol d\u2019Oc\u00e9anographie) de Vigo.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Ce matin l\u00e0, nous avons observ\u00e9 une mar\u00e9e rouge sur la plage de Laxe. Enfin c&rsquo;est ce qu&rsquo;on pensait\u2026 car lorsque nous nous sommes approch\u00e9s, il s&rsquo;agissait d&rsquo;une accumulation de macroalgues tr\u00e8s \u00ab\u00a0fines et plumeuses\u00a0\u00bb. Dans l&rsquo;apr\u00e8s-midi, nous avons \u00e9galement entendu des conversations mentionnant ces mar\u00e9es, dans les terrasses et les restaurants. Alors que nous nous demandions si nous aurions de la chance, une lueur bleue au loin a \u00e9loign\u00e9 tous nos doutes. \u00c0 22 h 30, nous avons march\u00e9 jusqu&rsquo;\u00e0 la plage, l&rsquo;acc\u00e8s \u00e9tait d\u00e9j\u00e0 encombr\u00e9 de voitures faisant la queue pour se garer.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Le bord de la plage \u00e9tait bond\u00e9 de personnes arm\u00e9es de leurs t\u00e9l\u00e9phones portables et appareils photo qui enregistraient le spectacle des vagues illumin\u00e9es par la mar\u00e9e bioluminescente.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Nous y avons pass\u00e9 presque deux heures. Je me suis baign\u00e9 avec prudence : la mer \u00e9tait calme et l&rsquo;eau fra\u00eeche mais supportable. Au moindre mouvement la mer s&rsquo;illumine avec les vagues bleues qui se brisent dans la crique.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Je n&rsquo;ai pas r\u00e9ussi \u00e0 l&rsquo;enregistrer mais \u00e9tant donn\u00e9 la quantit\u00e9 d&rsquo;images et de vid\u00e9os qui sont publi\u00e9es, l&rsquo;important est de profiter du spectacle. <em>Et s&rsquo;il vous pla\u00eet, \u00e9teignez les flashs !!! et les lampes vers le sol s&rsquo;il vous pla\u00eet !!!<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Le d\u00e9fil\u00e9 des voitures illuminait la plage en cachant la bioluminescence et ce n&rsquo;est que lorsque le trafic s&rsquo;est arr\u00eat\u00e9 un moment que l&rsquo;on a pu appr\u00e9cier le feu dans toute sa splendeur.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Lorsque nous sommes revenus \u00e0 Laxe, j&rsquo;ai observ\u00e9 les \u00e9chantillons de Rebordelo et \u00e0 l&rsquo;\u0153il nu, mais je n&rsquo;ai rien vu dans l&rsquo;eau. Ils n&rsquo;avaient pas de couleur et pas de <em>Noctilucas<\/em>. J&rsquo;ai conserv\u00e9 les \u00e9chantillons dans un endroit frais et le lendemain, je les ai observ\u00e9s au microscope \u00e0 l&rsquo;IEO de Vigo.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">En effet, je n&rsquo;ai pas observ\u00e9 un seul <em>Noctiluca <\/em>mais une multitude de dinoflagell\u00e9s, principalement du genre <em>Alexandrium<\/em>. A premi\u00e8re vue, il y avait deux types de cellules selon leur taille : <em>A. minutum<\/em> (petit et rare) et un autre <em>Alexandrium<\/em>, rond et joufflu, qui remplissait l&rsquo;\u00e9chantillon et dansait sans arr\u00eat.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-video is-provider-youtube wp-block-embed-youtube wp-embed-aspect-16-9 wp-has-aspect-ratio\"><div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<span class=\"embed-youtube\" style=\"text-align:center; display: block;\"><iframe loading=\"lazy\" class=\"youtube-player\" width=\"1500\" height=\"844\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/WNmzeH3mXek?version=3&#038;rel=1&#038;showsearch=0&#038;showinfo=1&#038;iv_load_policy=1&#038;fs=1&#038;hl=fr-FR&#038;autohide=2&#038;wmode=transparent\" allowfullscreen=\"true\" style=\"border:0;\" sandbox=\"allow-scripts allow-same-origin allow-popups allow-presentation allow-popups-to-escape-sandbox\"><\/iframe><\/span>\n<\/div><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Il y avait aussi du <em>Lingulodinium polyedra<\/em> de taille encore plus grande, pas tr\u00e8s abondant mais facile \u00e0 distinguer gr\u00e2ce \u00e0 son aspect blind\u00e9 et poly\u00e9drique. De nombreuses esp\u00e8ces d&rsquo;<em>Alexandrium<\/em> (sauf <em>A. minutum<\/em>) produisent de la bioluminescence, tout comme <em>Lingulodinium <\/em>! Tout commen\u00e7ait \u00e0 avoir du sens.<br><strong>Il restait \u00e0 confirmer quelle esp\u00e8ce d&rsquo;<em>Alexandrium<\/em> dominait l&rsquo;\u00e9chantillon.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-video is-provider-youtube wp-block-embed-youtube wp-embed-aspect-16-9 wp-has-aspect-ratio\"><div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<span class=\"embed-youtube\" style=\"text-align:center; display: block;\"><iframe loading=\"lazy\" class=\"youtube-player\" width=\"1500\" height=\"844\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/sLruQehr2WY?version=3&#038;rel=1&#038;showsearch=0&#038;showinfo=1&#038;iv_load_policy=1&#038;fs=1&#038;hl=fr-FR&#038;autohide=2&#038;wmode=transparent\" allowfullscreen=\"true\" style=\"border:0;\" sandbox=\"allow-scripts allow-same-origin allow-popups allow-presentation allow-popups-to-escape-sandbox\"><\/iframe><\/span>\n<\/div><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Le principal suspect \u00e9tait <em>A. tamarense<\/em> bien qu&rsquo;in vivo il n&rsquo;y ait aucun moyen de le distinguer (du moins pour moi) d&rsquo;un autre tr\u00e8s similaire : <em>A. ostenfeldii<\/em>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">En faisant une coloration de leurs plaques de cellulose, ils peuvent \u00eatre discrimin\u00e9s par \u00e9pifluorescence gr\u00e2ce \u00e0 un pore situ\u00e9 entre deux de leurs plaques. Si le pore est minuscule (ou si vous ne pouvez pas le voir), il s&rsquo;agit de <em>A. tamarense<\/em>. Rodr\u00edguez<\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Quelques jours plus tard, les s\u00e9quences g\u00e9n\u00e9tiques (LSU et ITS rDNA) de deux cellules ont confirm\u00e9 qu&rsquo;il s&rsquo;agissait d&rsquo;Alexandrium tamarense. Cette esp\u00e8ce est donc s\u00fbrement celle qui a produit la mar\u00e9e bioluminescente \u00e0 Rebordelo mais \u00e9galement sur d&rsquo;autres plages de Corme-Laxe\u2026 et je suppose \u00e0 Carnota aussi.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Il n&rsquo;y a pas d&rsquo;\u00e9levage de moules dans la R\u00eda de Corme e Laxe. <\/strong>Mais l&rsquo;Institut technologique de Galice pour le contr\u00f4le du milieu marin (<strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.intecmar.gal\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">INTECMAR<\/a><\/strong>) dispose d&rsquo;une station d&rsquo;\u00e9chantillonnage (C5) pour les conditions environnementales et le phytoplancton. Elle est situ\u00e9e \u00e0 Ponteceso, \u00e0 l&#8217;embouchure de la rivi\u00e8re Anll\u00f3ns, \u00e0 l&rsquo;int\u00e9rieur de l&rsquo;estuaire. Les comptages de phytoplancton de la semaine suivante ont montr\u00e9 la pr\u00e9sence d\u2019<em>Alexandrium<\/em> spp. avec plus de 85 000 cellules\/litre.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong><em>Alexandrium tamarense n\u2019est pas toxique. <\/em><\/strong>Cependant, si vous faites une recherche sur Internet, vous constaterez qu&rsquo;elle est cit\u00e9e comme une esp\u00e8ce toxique. La confusion est li\u00e9e au fait que plusieurs esp\u00e8ces d&rsquo;<em>Alexandrium<\/em> ont \u00e9t\u00e9 nomm\u00e9es par erreur comme <em>A. tamarense<\/em>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">A moins d&rsquo;\u00eatre un expert en morphologie, il est franchement difficile de diff\u00e9rencier un certain nombre d&rsquo;esp\u00e8ces de ce genre sans un soup\u00e7on de doute. En raison de l&rsquo;effort (et du temps) n\u00e9cessaire \u00e0 leur identification, elles sont souvent regroup\u00e9es sous l&rsquo;\u00e9tiquette <em>Alexandrium <\/em>spp. et pendant des d\u00e9cennies, elles ont \u00e9t\u00e9 d\u00e9sign\u00e9es comme le \u00ab\u00a0complexe d&rsquo;esp\u00e8ces <em>A. tamarense<\/em>\u00ab\u00a0.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">En 2014, <strong>John et col. <\/strong>ont publi\u00e9 une \u00e9tude dans laquelle ils ont finalement attribu\u00e9 des noms valides \u00e0 des esp\u00e8ces qui \u00e9taient jusqu&rsquo;alors attribu\u00e9es aux groupes I \u00e0 V d\u2019<em>Alexandrium tamarense<\/em>. Cette influence favorise le maintien des populations locales et stimule leur prolif\u00e9ration estivale ann\u00e9e apr\u00e8s ann\u00e9e.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">La formation de kystes par cette esp\u00e8ce et leur persistance dans les s\u00e9diments leur permet de se \u00ab\u00a0r\u00e9veiller\u00a0\u00bb lorsque les conditions sont favorables. Cette propri\u00e9t\u00e9 doit \u00e9galement contribuer au maintien de l\u2019esp\u00e8ce dans le temps.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Les mar\u00e9es bioluminescentes sont \u00e9galement fr\u00e9quentes en \u00e9t\u00e9 sur la plage de Carnota, comme nous l&rsquo;assure ma coll\u00e8gue Pilar Rial, une habitu\u00e9e des lieux. Et devinez quoi\u2026 la partie nord de cette immense plage re\u00e7oit de l&rsquo;eau douce qui se d\u00e9verse sur la plage de \u00ab\u00a0Boca do R\u00edo\u00a0\u00bb. Source: <a href=\"https:\/\/www.elespanol.com\/quincemil\/articulos\/vivir\/10-cosas-o-planes-que-tienes-que-hacer-si-visitas-carnota\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">El Espa\u00f1ol<\/a><\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">L&rsquo;int\u00e9r\u00eat pour la bioluminescence a \u00e9norm\u00e9ment augment\u00e9 d&rsquo;un point de vue touristique gr\u00e2ce aux images et aux vid\u00e9os de ces derni\u00e8res ann\u00e9es.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Nous recevons m\u00eame des demandes de renseignements \u00e0 l&rsquo;IEO, directement ou par l&rsquo;interm\u00e9diaire de la Xunta de Galicia, de la part de personnes qui veulent visiter la Galice et savoir o\u00f9 voir les mar\u00e9es bioluminescentes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Il est impossible de pr\u00e9dire avec certitude o\u00f9 et quand aura lieu une mar\u00e9e bioluminescente spectaculaire.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Mais il est possible d&rsquo;avoir plus de chances de les voir avec des informations actualis\u00e9es. Pour l&rsquo;instant, c&rsquo;est le bouche-\u00e0-oreille, les communiqu\u00e9s de presse et les messages sur les m\u00e9dias sociaux qui fonctionnent le mieux\u2026<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Mais je pense qu&rsquo;il est possible (et int\u00e9ressant pour plusieurs raisons) de d\u00e9velopper une application mobile bas\u00e9e sur la \u00ab<strong>science citoyenne<\/strong>\u00bb qui enregistrerait les observations de mar\u00e9es bioluminescentes g\u00e9olocalis\u00e9es par les personnes. Cette application pr\u00e9senterait \u00e9galement un int\u00e9r\u00eat scientifique : si les donn\u00e9es sont collect\u00e9es en continu dans le temps, nous pourrions \u00e9tudier les tendances spatio-temporelles et les relier aux organismes responsables. Elle fournirait \u00e9galement des donn\u00e9es pr\u00e9cieuses pour le d\u00e9veloppement d&rsquo;outils pr\u00e9dictifs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Enfin, et surtout: <\/strong>Tout cela doit s&rsquo;accompagner d&rsquo;une information ad\u00e9quate du respect des valeurs environnementales de l&rsquo;environnement.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Pour revenir au d\u00e9but, les taches orange de <em>Noctiluca <\/em>sont faciles \u00e0 reconna\u00eetre et donnent des indices permettant de rechercher les plages et zones c\u00f4ti\u00e8res avec des mar\u00e9es bioluminescentes.
